Overage is sold as one-time packs, never charged automatically. That is a promise, not a feature: no VisionParse customer ever receives a surprise invoice.

  • Your plan quota is used first each month; packs draw down only after it.
  • Developers can skip subscriptions entirely: a first pack of $15 or more unlocks the API pay-as-you-go.
  • At quota exhaustion the API returns 402 with a machine-readable body and a top-up link. No silent failures, no surprise bills.

Why the API is not free.

Free API keys get scraped, shared and wrapped in other people's products, which is how free tiers die for everyone. Our free tier is web-only instead — generous, permanent, and impossible to industrialise. The API starts at $19, or with a one-time $15 pack if you would rather not subscribe at all.
